VDLC EDUCATION - WINTER 2025 SESSIONS - Feb 25 to June 11 (Zoom & In Person)

Registration is now open for our Winter 2025 Education session. This session runs from February 25 to June 11, 2025.

We have rescheduled one workshop from our Fall 2024 session to the new year with a few seats available! Facing Management Effectively will now take place on January 21 & 22, 2025. This course will look at economic, political, and social forces at play between union and management. It will examine the roles and rights of each group and the different types of union/management relationships and styles. We will look at power, bias, and the privilege dynamics between union and management and how we can communicate effectively.

Our topics for the Winter session include Defamation Law for Unions, Discipline & Discharge, Job Steward Level 1, Parliamentary Procedure & Effective Meetings, Charter of Rights & Freedoms Parts 1 & 2, Collective Bargaining, and Update on Duty to Accommodate in the Workers' Compensation Act Bill 41. We also have a few new ones this winter on Freedom of Information Requests, How Society Works, and Navigating Repetitive Strain Injuries (ASTDs) in the WCB Appeal System.
