National Day of Mourning - April 28

Across Canada, April 28th has been designated the Day of Mourning.

Every year workers, families, employers and communities come together at ceremonies held around the province to remember those who have lost their lives to work-related incidents or occupational disease, and renew our commitment to creating healthy and safe workplaces.

There are 5 ceremonies taking place in the Lower Mainland on Friday, April 28th.

In Vancouver:

10:30 am at Hastings Park

2901 East Hastings St.

Centre Grounds near the PNE Forum; enter via Gate 2

In Delta:

10:45 am at Rotary Park

In front of the Delta Municipal Hall

In Surrey:

7:30 am at the City Works Yard

6651 - 148th St

In New Westminster:

11:00 am at Westminster Pier Park

On Annacis Island:

10:30 am at the BCIT Annacis Island Campus
